Love the name…

September 2, 2010

Jett James.

With a name like his-you just know this little guy is bound for stardom!  This handsome {almost famous} young man completes the trifecta of adorable redheads that Mom and Dad have placed all their bets on!

As always I am honored and consider it a an extra special duty to be able to capture the first fleeting days of a newborn’s place in this world.  I couldn’t have been more willing to make this family smile even more-so about their sweet addition.

I present to you the handsome, the darling… Mr. Jett James!  (isn’t is fun just to say!?)

enjoy xo

Anne: These are just perfect!!!

Ashley: I want to eat him up. Gorgeous baby boy, gorgeous pics!

kelly: Jill these are amazing. Love each and every one. Mom and dad are going to be so happy. I hope they get them all.

jenny: Ooh...what an absolutely delicious little baby! I adore his scrunchy little face. I agree...his name sets him up for stardom. Love it!

As a photographer, I have always been blessed with beautiful.sleepy and happy newborns!  This will normally weigh true for newborns who are within a week or so old.

*babes on board reminder* if you are pregnant and looking to have newborn photos done, be sure to contact me in advance, that way I can know when (abouts) to expect to schedule your session.  I get booked months in advance for general sessions and weddings, but I always leave time and space to accommodate my newborn clients.  Either way, don’t delay.. let me know soon!  I absolutely love looking forward to babes in the studio!!

This little mister was sound asleep for just about the entire session.  When I say entire, I mean all but like 10 minutes at the very end!!  For that I say-WUHUHI5 buddy!!

I absolutely LOVE this wide-eyed image of him, have to call it one of my fav’s!!

(me—->sounds like: broken record… can’t help myself-I LOVE my job!)

Congrats and enjoy! xo

I had the pleasure of meeting two of the sweetest little gentlemen and their lovely mama at this amazing, outdoor country-haven!

The evening light here is so delicious, and the proof is in the preview!!

Newborn sessions differ quite a bit from your average photo session-working to get a sleepy, snuggly baby can take a bit of time, patience and even some genius.  Both boys made my job a breeze, but an extra special hands down to big brother, who was not only a super-trooper through it all, but a huge help to me during the session!!

Of course could not pick just a couple favorites, so with that I leave you with a handful from their gallery.

Enjoy! xo

Please allow me this opportunity to announce my affiliation with the Pictures of Hope Foundation!  As you know, photography is my passion and I could not be more honored to be able to share my gift in this way.  Please read on for more information on just what POH is and how you can be involved too…

What is the Pictures of Hope Foundation?

Pictures of Hope is a charitable organization of professional photographers who provide complimentary, documentary-style, photography sessions to babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and their families.  The Pictures of Hope Foundation is comprised of photographers (many of whom are “NICU mothers” themselves) from across the United States and Canada who are dedicated to donating their time to a cause they believe in, and sharing the gift of photography with families in need.

Why Pictures of Hope?

Throughout pregnancy most parents don’t anticipate the possibility of their baby needing to stay in the NICU after birth. Whatever that reason may be, time spent in the NICU is often an unexpected journey for families, a journey full of overwhelming emotions…sadness, confusion, hope, celebration, and unfortunately, at times grief. Throughout this roller coaster of emotions, many parents do not consider the importance of documenting these precious moments in their lives nor do they think about how much they will truly cherish these images years down the road. In some cases, a little extra TLC from the NICU is needed to be sure the little one gets off to the best possible start, for these families on the road to well being, photographs are a wonderful reminder of just how far their little one has come, however, photographs also play a necessary and very important role in the healing process for other families. In the most heart breaking circumstances, photos may be the only tangible keepsakes some parents have of their precious little one. All Pictures of Hope participating photographers are dedicated to providing NICU families with invaluable images you will cherish forever, captured in a sensitive and caring manner.

How you can be involved?

Do you know a family in this situation at the moment?  If so, please contact me today!  If not, please keep us in mind should this situation present itself in the future.  Feel the need to do more?  Share this post with friends and family, feel free to promote this post via your facebook page and help us to spread the word!!!

jenny: Congratulations! What an incredible way to give back to your community.

Danielle Renee: I LOVE that you are doing this! What an incredible way to give back! The NICU is near and dear to my heart because both our neice and our best friend's babies spent significant time in the NICU! It is also wonderful to document because many loved ones are not able to visit the baby while in there and so they can look back at the journey also!

Meet Lucy Kate

June 12, 2009

I waited a good, long 9 months to photograph this sweet little beauty!!  Needless to say, I was very excited when she made her arrival and that all was happy and healthy.  Mom is a good friend of mine and she was gracious and willing to allow me to capture the following shot.

We chuckled that baby looks a tad “smushed” (in Mom’s words).  She was truly a good sport and amazingly fit all nice and snuggly!  I just LOVE how she is  holding on there with her left hand!

It’s no secret that I am partial to newborn photography.  To be able to capture the essence of innocence using a touch of unexpected creativity, always makes my heart skip a beat!  Miss Lucy Kate was no exception.  As you can see, she is perfect in every way and so very loved!

Congrats Mom, Dad and big brother e, may LK bring even more laughter and adventure into your lives and joy into your home.

Miss McKenzie was a natural behind the camera at just 7 days old.  She was sleepy, content and perfect in every way, she truly made my job a piece of cake!

I have photographed big sister Mikaylee on several occasions and she is a doll too!  Needless to say, I  was very excited to meet this little gal.  She is truly another blessing to the Gordon family!

I know I say this every time, and surely always will… I wholeheartedly mean every bit of it.  To capture a newborn’s first days of life is like no other task, these beginning moments are SO precious and go SO fast.  Enjoy this special time with your little one, and thank you always for the opportunity!

Please enjoy the preview, your gallery will be ready tomorrow!

loves!

April 21, 2009

This sweet little guy made his arrival 3 weeks early, my tiniest newborn to date.  I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph him at just 7 days old!

Wouldn’t you agree, that to freeze the hands of time would be ideal at certain moments in life?  Since that is just not possible, I’ll suggest the next best thing…

I sincerely hope you enjoy this preview as a way to cherish these beginning special moments.

Welcome to the world baby Kaden, wishing you many blessings!
